James | American Fork Birth Photos

Meet the Coburns.  They welcomed James into their family this month!  I was lucky enough to be able to take their American Fork Birth Photos.  I consider myself very privileged to be invited into a birth space, and this was no exception.   Amy was induced because of high blood pressure and about 36 hours later that they welcomed their sweet, tiny, baby boy!

Both grandmas and 2 aunts were also there when he was born which was so special! Both grandpas were standing by in the waiting room.  It’s always fun when all the extended family is so excited for the arrival of the new baby.  One side of the family was welcoming their 3rd grandbaby, and the other side welcomed #43!

Without further aidou, here’s a little video of their birth.  For more of the story keep reading below!

Amy started her induction around 1pm on Thursday.  She labored all night and into the next day.  On Friday, Nov 3, she texted me around 8:15 to let me know I should come to the hospital.  When I got there, she was 10cm!  They were excited for the baby to arrive!  Brooks was so sweet and held her hand and told her she was doing amazing!  Amy is lucky enough to have a nurse practitioner for a mother-in-law, so she helped her through the contractions, and helped with coaching her on pushing.

Amy’s mom was so helpful to.  From telling her she was doing amazing, to helping Amy in any way she could.  Amy’s mom said she didn’t sleep at all the night before because she was so excited!  I bet their family get togethers are super fun with 43 grandkids!

Little James was born exactly 4 years after his parents met. He wanted to make his grand entrance on a big day I guess!

These two are so sweet together.  Brooks was so encouraging, and I loved being able to document all the big and small moments of James’ birth, and all the excitement around it with the family.  Amy was amazing, and worked hard to meet her baby boy!

Capturing dads reaction is one of my favorite things!  Everyone in the room was so excited when he was born!  Before he was earthside, we all guessed how big he was going to be.  Everyone thought he would be a pretty big baby, but he was only 6#2oz.  It was fun to see the reactions when he was so tiny!American Fork Birth Photos

This is one of my favorite pics!  Little James is going to get weighed and measured, but he just wants to hold his mama’s hand.  And, I love that all of the ladies in the room wanted to get in on the picture taking!  How funny is this picture?  This is one of the reasons it’s nice to have a birth photographer!  It’s nice to be able to capture the moments surrounding the birth like every one’s excitement!

Awww.  Isn’t he just the cutest?  I love his bright eyes and that he’s looking around wondering what just happened to him!
