Baby Milo | Utah Birth Story

Baby Milo’s birth was so beautiful!  I love being able to do Utah birth story photography and videography.

The story is below, but here’s the video just in case you want to watch it first!  I love video for the sounds and the movement!  It’s the closest thing to actually being there.

Kirbi went to the hospital 2 days before her due date with a lot of contractions!  They got checked in, got the epidural and tried to rest for a bit.  They called me around 2am and said they were ready for me to come.   A lot of people ask me if I ever get called in the middle of the night.  Yes!  A lot of births happen in the middle of the night!  Middle of the night is good for me, because I don’t have to worry about traffic or my kids.  They are all home soundly sleeping in their beds 🙂

When I got there, I was surprised to see big sister, Olli, hanging out!  I knew she would be there, I just thought she’d be more tired, but she was just so excited to meet her little bro.  Grandma (who was so sweet), played games with her, did lacing cards, and hung out.  It was so fun to get to know them.  I bet Olli is the best helper at home with the new baby!  One of my favorite things they brought was 2 little foxes.  One they bought and one made by grandma.  Olli wanted to decorate the room to make it cute for Milo.  How adorable is that?!?

I just love the hand holding shots and the photos that show the details of the room and the love of the family.  They are my favorites!

After a few hours, it was time for the baby!  Grandma and Olli went out to the waiting room.  Olli made a cute drawing for her baby brother on the ipad.  It was emotional as they got ready to welcome a new baby into their family.  Such a big change!

With only a couple pushes, Milo was born!  Such a cute baby!  Grandma and Olli couldn’t wait to come see him for the first time, and he looked so much like Olli when she was born!  They had baby pictures of her they were looking at and comparing their similarities.

After they did the weights and measurements, and everyone got to hold him for a little while, it was time for everyone (except mom of course 🙂 ) to go home and take a nap.  Olli didn’t think she was even tired, but she had only slept a couple hours before they came to the hospital, so I bet she crashed hard on the way home!  I know I slept a good long time when I got home!

Congratulations Fuchs’ family!  Such a beautiful & exciting birth!  I love when older siblings are involved!

  2. Beautiful pictures Tina! They will be cherished for years! It’s funny how so many births are at night – most of mine are too!
